Energy. With 35 million people and 28 million cars, Californians expect it to be there when we want it, even if we aren't sure where it comes from.

The energy system in California is undergoing a transformation and the source of our energy is going to look very different in the future. What was once considered "alternative" energy is becoming mainstream.  Energy such as solar innovation, fuel cells, and what's being called the "holy grail" of clean energy – biofuels for transportation.

Many are hoping this trend toward "alternative" energy will create new employment and research opportunities as well as economic and environmental impact savings for California.

This episode of New Valley explores the emerging new technologies in clean energy being developed in the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys. We will also introduce some of the innovators hoping to establish this region as a leader in the business of clean energy.
